About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and performance of employees within JBSS's manufacturing locations. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating job-specific training programs across multiple sites, focusing on Production and Warehouse operations. The L&D Specialist will develop training content tailored to the needs of the organization and facilitate training sessions to ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their jobs effectively. In addition to training coordination, the L&D Specialist will conduct ongoing audits to assess individual skills and overall organizational performance. This involves analyzing the training needs of the organization and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs to ensure they meet the desired outcomes. The role requires collaboration with management at all JBSS manufacturing locations to identify training requirements and implement solutions that align with company goals. The position also entails obtaining, organizing, and developing training materials, including procedure manuals, guides, and visual aids, to support the training process. Maintaining accurate training records and providing reports on training activities and outcomes is also a key responsibility of the L&D Specialist. This role is essential in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate job-specific multi-site training programs focusing on Production and Warehouse operations.
  • Develop training content and facilitate training sessions as necessary to meet company needs.
  • Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.
  • Set up and maintain training records and provide reports as needed.
  • Conduct ongoing audits to improve individual skills or organizational performance.
  • Analyze organizational needs and evaluate training effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, learning & development, or related fields.
  • Three plus years of recent experience in a training or operations role.
  • Food Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating training without the assistance of a support staff.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Ability to work well with employees who possess a wide variety of skill sets and at various levels of the organization.
  • Able to work independently and be self-directed with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Office, Internet, and common business software programs.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites.
