About the position

The Learning and Development Specialist at Camber Corporation plays a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and performance of employees while aligning with the company's core values. This position is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive learning and development strategies that meet the organization's goals and objectives. The specialist will lead the assessment of organizational needs and create programs that facilitate professional development and continuous learning for team members. In addition to developing training programs, the Learning and Development Specialist will establish and manage the learning management system (LMS) to ensure the efficient delivery, tracking, and reporting of all training activities. Collaboration with department heads and managers is essential to identify training needs and develop scalable solutions that support employee growth across all levels of the organization. The role also involves overseeing the budget for the learning and development department, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to maximize return on investment. The specialist will facilitate high-impact leadership development programs aimed at preparing high-potential employees for future leadership roles. They will also innovate and implement unique learning initiatives, such as mentorship programs and industry-specific simulations, to enhance experiential learning opportunities. Adherence to established time frames for employee training and onboarding procedures in partnership with Human Resources and Executive leadership is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional development programs.
  • Establish and manage the learning management system (LMS) for training and development activities.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and develop scalable solutions.
  • Oversee the budget for the learning and development department to maximize return on investment.
  • Facilitate high-impact leadership development programs for high-potential employees.
  • Develop and maintain a network of external training and development providers.
  • Innovate and implement unique learning initiatives such as mentorship programs and industry-specific simulations.
  • Adhere to established time frames for employee training and onboarding procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in talent development with proven experience in building impactful programs.
  • 5+ years of experience managing diverse teams across various industries including property management and hospitality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Vetted program and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPTD or SHRM) are a plus.
  • Training delivery certifications like MBTI, KFLA, and DiSC are a plus.
