About the position

The Learning Editor at Reuters is responsible for designing and delivering training programs that enhance the skills of journalists in the newsroom. This role involves collaborating with a global learning team to create impactful learning opportunities that address the newsroom's talent challenges and support its strategic objectives. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying training needs and implementing innovative solutions to ensure high standards in journalism.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and coordinate learning programs in consultation with senior editors and newsroom leaders.
• Work with newsroom leaders to meet editorial and business objectives, focusing on areas such as AI, digital skills, and leadership.
• Anticipate and identify pressing training needs and suggest innovative training approaches.
• Produce a variety of learning materials including tipsheets, trainer packs, and e-learning modules.
• Deliver interactive editorial training in both real and virtual classrooms.

Requirements

• Extensive newsroom experience
• Deep knowledge of editorial systems or willingness to learn
• Understanding of AI and its potential in the newsroom
• Strong news judgment and storytelling ability across multiple formats
• Exceptional people and organizational skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
