About the position

The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) at Dallas College is responsible for developing engaging learning experiences for students and employees. This role involves collaborating with academic partners and subject matter experts to create and improve learning programs across various modalities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and select appropriate learning strategies and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Develop innovative design experiences and solutions that meet organizational and learner needs.
  • Identify and modify existing learning materials to support current learning requirements.
  • Plan and communicate effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) for accurate content design.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, evaluation, and accessibility standards.
  • Communicate design rationale and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Establish design strategies that adhere to branding and accreditation requirements.
  • Champion design enhancements and improvements in brand identity.
  • Participate in quality assurance oversight for all learning content.
  • Draft storyboards and mock-ups for interactive learning solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in online learning and multimedia design.
  • Develop learning strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Curate learning resources to support online teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in instructional systems design and development or educational technology.
  • Five years of related experience in teaching, training, course design, and technology implementation.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with learning management systems and content creation software.
  • Portfolio or related work samples required.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to off-site locations.
