About the position

The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) at Dallas College is responsible for developing engaging learning experiences for students and employees. This role involves collaborating with academic partners and subject matter experts to create and improve learning programs across various modalities, utilizing innovative instructional design techniques to meet institutional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and select appropriate learning strategies and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Develop innovative design experiences and solutions that cater to organizational and learner needs.
  • Identify and modify existing learning materials to support current learning requirements.
  • Plan and communicate effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate content design.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, accessibility, and legal requirements in learning content.
  • Communicate design rationale and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Establish design strategies that align with branding and accreditation requirements.
  • Champion design enhancements and improvements in brand identity.
  • Participate in quality assurance oversight for all learning content.
  • Draft storyboards and mock-ups for interactive learning solutions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in online learning and multimedia design tools.
  • Develop learning strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Curate learning resources to support online teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in instructional systems design and development or educational technology.
  • Five years of related experience, including teaching, training, and course design.
  • Portfolio or related work samples demonstrating expertise.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with learning management systems.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to off-site locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred.
