About the position

The Learning Experience Designer (LXD) at Dallas College will act as a champion for teaching and learning development, collaborating with academic partners and subject matter experts to create engaging learning experiences. This role focuses on transforming learning requirements into innovative programs across various modalities, aimed at enhancing the educational journey for students and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and select appropriate learning strategies and technologies to maximize learning impact.
  • Develop innovative design experiences that meet organizational and learner needs.
  • Identify and modify existing learning materials to support current learning needs.
  • Plan and communicate effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) for accurate content design.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, accessibility, and legal requirements.
  • Communicate design rationale and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Establish design strategies that adhere to branding and accreditation requirements.
  • Champion design enhancements and brand identity improvements.
  • Participate in quality assurance for all learning content.
  • Draft storyboards and mock-ups for interactive learning solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in online learning and multimedia design.
  • Maintain proficiency in UX design methods and relevant software tools.
  • Develop learning strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Curate learning resources to support online teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in instructional systems design and development or educational technology.
  • Five years of related experience, including teaching, training, and course design.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with learning management systems and content creation software.
  • Portfolio or related work samples required.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to off-site locations.
