About the position

The Learning Experience Designer at Ellucian is responsible for creating high-quality, innovative training experiences that help learners achieve their educational objectives. This hybrid role requires collaboration with stakeholders to assess learner needs and develop effective instructional strategies using various training delivery methods. The position emphasizes the application of instructional design theories and practices to enhance learning retention and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Create a training plan for stakeholders and transform that vision into engaging instructional strategies and resources.
  • Recommend appropriate modes of training delivery, including eLearning, Instructor-led (virtual and on-ground), microlearning, and blended training.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to course development.
  • Build engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
  • Adhere to instructional design documentation and processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Review learning resources and assessments to ensure proper alignment to the intended learning experience.
  • Determine the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments.
  • Track and evaluate the success of a training program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.

Requirements

  • Understanding and application of current and emerging instructional design methods, adult learning theories, learning outcome assessment, project management strategies, game-based learning, and competency-based education.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and events from design to execution.
  • Create timelines, monitor milestones & deliverables, and address issues.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, cross-departmental teamwork, and technical proficiency.
  • Experience creating a variety of training formats such as on-demand, microlearning, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led.
  • Skilled at understanding and adapting to a wide variety of cultures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders, and work efficiently across time zones.
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a deadline-oriented work environment and to execute complex projects simultaneously with a high degree of quality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
