About the position

The Learning Experience Designer for Tesla's Energy Training team is responsible for creating and managing educational materials that support various stakeholders across multiple product lines, including Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar. This role involves analyzing training needs, designing instructional content, and enhancing the training experience to meet key performance indicators. The position requires collaboration with engineering and technical teams, as well as a strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop content through immersive research and collaboration with engineering, technical writers, and process architecture.
  • Design new training materials using technology and software tools, including video creation.
  • Document learning objectives by engaging with new products and processes, and review findings with experts and stakeholders.
  • Audit learner experience and provide guidance on learning theory and design that aligns with company standards.
  • Quickly develop agendas by leading with strong questioning to understand problems needing solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of instructional design, technical writing, or training content development experience, preferably in a high-tech environment.
  • Strong understanding of training, curriculum development, and adult learning theory.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with evolving industry needs.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Photoshop, and Visio.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite and related communication tools.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
