About the position

The Learning Experience Designer at Farmers Insurance is responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing learning and performance improvement solutions that enhance the competencies and effectiveness of various learning audiences. This role focuses on achieving business goals through effective learning strategies and tools, including instructor-led training, e-learning, and job aids. The designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to ensure the success of learners and the overall business results generated from these learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis for new and existing courses.
  • Design and develop training curriculum, certificate programs, materials, and job aids for various platforms.
  • Consult with subject matter experts to create solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Analyze business results and learner success to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Participate in business activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist team leads and field trainers with measurement, facilitation, and evaluation of learning solutions.
  • Evaluate complex learning solutions and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Utilize effective design techniques and platforms to drive expected outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred in instructional design, education, or similar field.
  • Three years of experience in instructional design or educational content development.
  • Experience in designing scalable learning solutions (classroom, virtual, and/or online).
  • Experience with visual design, storyboarding, course-building, and editing.
  • Proficiency in Storyline, Captivate, HTML5, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or Video Editing preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure 'buy-in' and convince others regarding best approach.
  • Goal-oriented team player with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong relationship building.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with learning management systems.
  • Familiarity with adult learning practices and technologies.
