About the position

The Learning Facilitator for Business Insurance Underwriting at Travelers is responsible for facilitating live, virtual, multimedia, or blended learning programs aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of employees and business partners. This role supports both short-term and long-term business objectives and involves designing learning assets while potentially managing others. The ideal candidate will leverage their underwriting experience to effectively transfer knowledge to new underwriters and modernize training materials for various delivery formats.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver live, virtual, multimedia, or blended learning curriculum to meet the technical and skill requirements of employees and business partners.
  • Create an environment in which learners feel secure, respected, and cared for, encouraging them to learn, ask questions, and share experiences.
  • Design learning assets including training materials, activities, videos, and mockups.
  • Consult with front line managers and others on the development of their staff.
  • Deliver learning using course materials and resources as designed.
  • Challenge the status quo and stay abreast of industry and training best practices, making recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience in supported business operation or other learning and development related experience.
  • Five or more years of technical experience in line of business supported preferred.
  • General knowledge of MS Office products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple learning technologies required, including video conferencing and virtual platforms.
  • General knowledge of adult learning and design best practices for engaging learning resources preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to self-review and meet quality standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated focus on continuous self-learning and exploration of new trends in learning and development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Commercial Property coverage.
  • Prior experience in facilitating training and/or delivering presentations is desirable.
  • Intermediate technical experience in line of business supported.
  • Basic leadership skills, including building and maintaining work relationships.
