About the position

The Learning Instructional Designer and Developer at The Cigna Group is responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences for various audiences within the organization. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing e-learning modules and instructional materials while collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive e-learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate 360 Suite.
  • Supplement eLearning modules with multimedia assets using tools like Camtasia and Premiere Pro.
  • Design visually appealing materials in line with brand guidelines for various media formats.
  • Develop instructional materials including course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Apply adult learning theories to design practical, application-based learning experiences.
  • Create content outlines and wireframes to emulate the end-to-end learning experience.
  • Develop visual and interactive components for a consistent learning experience.
  • Deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure all learning materials are accessible and comply with SCORM standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and Learning Consultants to validate content.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and training needs.
  • Evaluate training program effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Continuously improve learning materials based on learner feedback and technological advancements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Maintain documentation related to training programs and development processes.
  • Communicate project status and updates to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in e-learning development and/or instructional design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of eLearning authoring tools (Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Articulate 360) and SCORM standards.
  • Proficiency with multimedia editing software such as Premiere Pro and Camtasia.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop for graphic design support is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and virtual learning experience platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Learning Experience Platforms (LXP).
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
