About the position

The Learning Instructional Designer and Developer is a key member of the Enterprise Learning Design team at The Cigna Group. This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning experiences tailored for various audiences within the organization. The position requires collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure that learning materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals, while also adhering to accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive e-learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate 360 Suite.
  • Supplement eLearning modules with multimedia assets using tools like Camtasia and Premiere Pro.
  • Design visually appealing materials in line with brand guidelines for various media formats.
  • Develop instructional materials including course outlines, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Apply adult learning theories to create practical, application-based learning experiences.
  • Create content outlines and wireframes to emulate the end-to-end learning experience.
  • Develop visual and interactive components for a consistent learning experience.
  • Ensure all learning materials are accessible and comply with SCORM publishing standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and Learning Consultants to validate content.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and training needs.
  • Evaluate training program effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Continuously improve learning materials based on learner feedback and technological advancements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Maintain documentation related to training programs and development processes.
  • Communicate project status and updates to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in e-learning development and/or instructional design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of eLearning authoring tools (Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Articulate 360) and SCORM publishing standards.
  • Proficiency with multimedia editing software such as Premier Pro and Camtasia.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop for graphic design support is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platform (LXP), and virtual learning experience (VLE) platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with web accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories.
