About the position
The Lease Operator at Wood PLC is responsible for overseeing well operations in Watford City, North Dakota. This role involves managing gas lifted wells, ESPs, and three-phase separation, along with performing minor maintenance on valves, pumps, and rotating equipment. The operator will log data, check gauges, and conduct minor repairs while ensuring optimal production through proactive monitoring and collaboration with support groups and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage well operations including gas lifted wells and ESPs.
- Perform minor maintenance on valves, pumps, and rotating equipment.
- Log data and check/test gauges on equipment.
- Conduct minor repairs on equipment as needed.
- Prepare for and perform maintenance tasks, including taking readings and issuing work permits.
- Proactively monitor well and equipment performance to maximize production.
- Collaborate with support groups to optimize chemical pump rates based on production data.
- Interface with engineering for data gathering requests.
- Track test compression data and conduct fluid level measurements using an echo meter.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a related field.
- Technical/functional and/or administrative support experience.
- Experience working with chemicals and/or treating oil.
- General working knowledge of specific systems, terminology, and procedures used within the department.
- Ability to perform routine tasks and solve problems effectively.
