About the position

The Leasing Agent at Volunteers of America Colorado is responsible for showing and leasing apartments in compliance with regulatory agreements and organizational policies. This role involves processing applications, conducting interviews, and ensuring accurate rent calculations, while also maintaining resident files and collaborating with service coordinators to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

• Process applications by conducting applicant interviews and obtaining necessary verifications.
• Calculate income, assets, and medical expenses, and enter data into property management software.
• Confirm accuracy of software-calculated rent.
• Execute applicant lease documents according to organizational policies.
• Assist in processing recertifications and interim recertifications.
• Collect and post resident rents and utilities, and deliver rent delinquency notices.
• Maintain applicant waitlist and resident files in compliance with program regulations.
• Conduct semi-annual updates of the waitlist.
• Compile program-required documents for annual financial audits.
• Monitor the property, resolve minor issues, and escalate serious issues to the Community Administrator.
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators to enhance resident quality of life.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of administrative or clerical office experience.
• Knowledge of computer operations, including basic data entry.
• Effective communication skills and ability to maintain good relations with residents and employees.
• Basic math aptitude.
