About the position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our dynamic team. As a Leasing Agent, you will play a vital role in leasing our properties to prospective residents while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other applicable laws. This position requires a strong understanding of the real estate industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records. You will conduct property tours and provide information about available units, screen potential tenants through credit checks and background verifications, and negotiate lease terms while handling any disputes that may arise. Maintaining accurate records of all leasing activities, including lease agreements and payment schedules, is crucial. You will also utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track property maintenance needs and monitor and address any maintenance issues promptly. Providing excellent customer service is a key aspect of this position, as you will respond to resident inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, you will assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and file organization. A comprehensive knowledge of Section 8 and other government housing programs is essential, as is staying up-to-date on LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credits) regulations to ensure compliance. Collaboration with the property management team will be necessary to ensure effective property operations, and you may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Tax Credit experience
• Lease up experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid real estate license
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and applicable laws
• Experience in the real estate industry, preferably in leasing or property management
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in an office environment and maintain accurate records
• Proficiency in data entry and file organization
• Familiarity with CMMS systems
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Section 8 and LIHTC regulations
• A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
