About the position

The Leasing Agent position is a part-time role focused on managing leasing activities for a 200-plus unit apartment complex in El Cajon. The agent will be responsible for interacting with potential residents, processing rental applications, and ensuring compliance with fair housing regulations. This role requires a blend of customer service and administrative skills to effectively support the property management team.

Responsibilities

• Lease apartments by phone and on-site presentation
• Answer telephones and interact with residents
• Process all necessary rental paperwork
• Conduct pre-move-in inspections
• Conduct new tenant move-ins
• Complete and log maintenance requests
• Follow-up on maintenance requests with maintenance team
• Collect and record rents and deposits
• Assist property manager with other duties as requested
• Comply with all fair housing laws
• Comply with all company policies and procedures

Requirements

• Must be proficient in English
• Be able to pass a full background check
• 2 year minimum experience in residential leasing
• Excellent customer service and sales skills
• Experience with Excel, Appfolio, and Word
