About the position

Eureka Multifamily Group is currently seeking a Leasing Agent for our affordable properties in Houston, TX. This full-time position is essential for performing all activities related to apartment rentals, resident move-ins, and lease renewals. The Leasing Agent will be responsible for completing all required administrative paperwork and ensuring a smooth transition for new residents. This role is pivotal in maintaining the overall community and enhancing resident retention through excellent customer service. The Leasing Agent will respond to resident inquiries and concerns, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies. The Leasing Agent will assist community managers in maintaining occupancy levels at the affordable living community. This includes conducting tours, maintaining the waitlist, gathering required verifications, and processing new applications. The agent will prepare move-in packets, assist with incoming and outgoing calls, and complete all move-in paperwork, including leases and accompanying addenda, in accordance with onsite procedures. The role also involves reviewing resident notices to vacate, advising residents of their responsibilities, and managing rent payments, including posting payments to resident accounts and updating records. In addition to administrative tasks, the Leasing Agent will help maintain the physical appearance of the community by performing minor cleaning and ensuring common areas are neat and tidy. Participation in mandatory training programs is required, and the Leasing Agent must report to work on time and comply with the dress code. This position reports directly to the Property Manager and may receive direction from the Assistant Manager, with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist community managers in maintaining occupancy levels at the affordable living community.
  • Conduct tours and maintain the waitlist for prospective residents.
  • Gather required verification and process new applications for apartment rentals.
  • Prepare move-in packets and complete all move-in paperwork, including leases and addenda.
  • Review resident notices to vacate and advise residents of their responsibilities.
  • Receive rent payments from residents and post payments to resident accounts.
  • Maintain documentation verifying compliance with Fair Housing Laws and other regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the community by performing minor cleaning and ensuring common areas are neat.
  • Participate in all mandatory training programs and comply with company policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in customer service or sales position.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in customer service and sales.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
