About the position

Eureka Multifamily Group is currently seeking a Leasing Agent for our affordable properties located in Memphis, TN. The Leasing Agent will be responsible for performing all activities related to apartment rentals, resident move-ins, and lease renewals, which includes the completion of all required administrative paperwork. This role is crucial in maintaining the overall community and ensuring resident retention. The Leasing Agent will provide excellent customer service by responding to resident inquiries and concerns, thereby enhancing the living experience for our residents. In this position, you will assist the community managers in maintaining occupancy levels at the affordable living community. This involves conducting tours, maintaining the waitlist, gathering required verifications, and processing new applications to meet or exceed occupancy goals. You will also be responsible for obtaining appropriate signatures and documentation related to move-ins, preparing move-in packets, and assisting with incoming and outgoing calls as needed. Completing all move-in paperwork, including leases and accompanying addenda, in accordance with onsite procedures is a key responsibility. Additionally, the Leasing Agent will review resident notices to vacate and advise residents of their responsibilities. You will handle rent payments from residents, complete resident receipts, post rent payments to resident accounts, and update resident records accordingly. Compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as Fair Housing Laws and other industry-related regulations, is essential. The Leasing Agent will also assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the community by performing minor cleaning and ensuring common areas are neat and tidy. Participation in all mandatory training programs is required, and punctuality and adherence to the dress code are expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in customer service or sales position.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in customer service and sales.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
