About the position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for managing property leasing activities, including listing vacancies, conducting property tours, and handling lease documentation. This part-time role requires strong customer service skills and knowledge of property management processes to effectively assist prospective residents and maintain compliance with housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• List current and predictable vacancies on all pertinent platforms.
• Scout for prospective lessees.
• Greet prospective residents and provide information about available properties.
• Conduct property tours and showcase the features and amenities of each unit.
• Conduct background checks and verify the rental history of potential residents.
• Prepare and execute lease documents according to property standards and regulations.
• Inspect properties when residents take occupancy and vacate.
• Maintain and store sensitive information and documentation effectively.
• Answer lease-related or other questions residents ask.
• Collect rent payments.
• Coordinate with property management any maintenance requests.
• Address residents' concerns and resolve conflicts in a professional and timely manner.
• Stay up to date with Fair Housing regulations and ensure compliance with all interactions with residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience in property management or leasing is preferred.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of legal administrative procedures related to leasing and property management.
• Strong sales skills and ability to effectively communicate with prospective residents.
• Familiarity with property maintenance processes and ability to coordinate repairs as needed.
• Proficiency in using property management software such as OneSite or Yardi.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).
