About the position

The Leasing Agent plays a vital role in assisting potential tenants in finding their ideal rental properties. This position involves site marketing, application processing, compliance with housing regulations, and maintaining tenant relations, contributing to the overall success of Rocky Mountain Communities.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC) processes and procedures.
• Perform duties in compliance with all applicable fair housing, federal, state, and local statutes and in compliance with all loan, grant, or program requirements.
• Distribute applications and convey information concerning the mutual housing process.
• Process all leasing functions, including intake forms, background investigations, wait-list maintenance, leasing forms preparation, unit assignment, notification process, and unit move-in documentation.
• Receive and record security deposits.
• Prepare files for inspection through regular file review and aid in tenant notification in preparation for inspection.
• Show units to prospective tenants.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate resident relations and participate in on-site activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of previous low-income housing property leasing experience.
• Knowledge of property management principles and practices.
• Exceptional customer service skills to build positive relationships with tenants.
• Professional phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to leasing and property management.
• Basic understanding of property maintenance and facilities management.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Competence in computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and community software applications.
