About the position

As a Leasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in the property management team, responsible for attracting and retaining tenants for our available properties. Your primary duties will include greeting prospective tenants, providing them with detailed information about the properties, and conducting tours to showcase the features and amenities of each unit. You will assist potential tenants through the application process, which involves collecting necessary documentation and conducting background checks to ensure compliance with our leasing policies. In addition to tenant interactions, you will prepare lease agreements and ensure that all required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Coordination of move-ins and move-outs will also be part of your responsibilities, which includes conducting inspections and documenting any damages to maintain the integrity of our properties. You will be the first point of contact for tenant inquiries, addressing any concerns or maintenance requests promptly to ensure tenant satisfaction. Maintaining accurate records of all leasing activities, tenant interactions, and payments is essential for this role. You will also be expected to have a solid understanding of Fair Housing regulations to ensure compliance in all leasing activities. Responsibilities

  • Cordially greet prospective tenants and provide them with information about available properties
  • Conduct property tours and showcase the features and amenities of each unit
  • Assist with the application process, including collecting necessary documentation and conducting background checks

  • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including conducting inspections and documenting any damages
  • Respond to tenant inquiries and address any concerns or maintenance requests promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of all leasing activities, tenant and landlord interactions and payments

Requirements

  • A valid Real Estate License is very beneficial; if not licensed, you will be expected to obtain your Real Estate License
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and ability to ensure compliance in all leasing activities
  • Previous experience in property maintenance or property leasing is preferred
  • Familiarity with property management software is a plus
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems to track work orders, maintenance requests and payments
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic bookkeeping practices
  • Ability to maintain & organize files and documentation related to leasing activities
  • Effective conflict management skills to handle tenant disputes or difficult situations
