About the position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for managing the leasing process for an apartment management company, ensuring a positive experience for prospective tenants. This role involves conducting property tours, assisting with applications and lease signings, and maintaining accurate tenant records. The Leasing Agent also addresses tenant inquiries and complaints, collaborates with the property management team, and conducts market research to stay competitive in rental offerings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property tours for potential tenants and provide detailed information about the property
• Assist prospective tenants with the leasing process, including application completion and lease signing
• Respond to inquiries from current and prospective tenants via phone, email, or in-person
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tenant information, leases, and rental payments
• Coordinate move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and key exchanges
• Handle tenant complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct market research to stay informed about rental rates and competitor offerings
• Collaborate with the property management team to ensure efficient operations
• Assist with property maintenance requests and coordinate repairs as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in leasing or property management is preferred but not required
• Excellent phone etiquette and strong communication skills
• Proficient in data entry and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with tenants and prospects
• Strong negotiation skills to secure lease agreements and renewals
• Upselling skills to promote additional services or amenities to tenants
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus
