About the position

The Leasing Consultant position at National Church Residences involves assisting the Property Manager or Senior Property Manager in maintaining occupancy levels at or above budgeted standards across one or more properties. The role focuses on marketing, leasing, and fostering positive relationships with residents to ensure high retention rates and compliance with fair housing laws.

Responsibilities

  • Perform marketing and leasing functions to maintain budgeted or greater occupancy for the property.
  • Complete guest cards, applicant information, and other lease-related reports, entering information into Yardi or other applications.
  • Lease apartments by conducting marketing surveys of competing properties, greeting prospects, presenting features and benefits of apartments, taking applications, and closing.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all residents to ensure high resident retention.
  • Conduct and document marketing efforts in adherence to the current Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan.
  • Familiarize with the requirements of the Tenant Selection Plan and explain occupancy requirements, Lease Agreement, House Rules, and any applicable addenda.
  • Manage relationships internally and externally, enhancing the National Church Residences brand through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adhere to fair housing laws and review leasing activities to ensure compliance.
  • Complete assigned training in a timely manner and maintain effective communication with residents, co-workers, community leaders, owners, management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Ensure all residents and staff are treated with respect and dignity, reporting complaints and allegations to appropriate supervisors.
  • Achieve Yardi scores at or above company standards and ensure the property meets or exceeds occupancy standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years of general office, customer service, or sales and marketing experience required.
  • Leasing experience preferred.
  • Good written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Comprehension and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and internet applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the senior housing sector.
  • Familiarity with Yardi software or similar property management systems.
