About the position

Lifestyle Apartments at Shreveport is seeking a dedicated Leasing Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for presenting and leasing apartment units to qualified candidates. Your primary duties will include following up with assigned prospects, showing available units, and assisting with the application and online registration processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to drive projects to completion, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. A collaborative spirit is essential, as our team values camaraderie and teamwork in achieving our goals. As a Leasing Agent, you will be tasked with presenting properties and their amenities in a positive light to prospective tenants, which is crucial for securing rental agreements. You will need to maintain an awareness of apartment inventory, pricing, and availability to effectively sell the features of our units and the services provided by our company. Additionally, you will confirm rental application data and personal references to ensure accuracy, show and inspect units, and coordinate with Property Managers regarding unit availability and grounds upkeep. Regular inspections of properties will also be part of your responsibilities to ensure they meet our company standards. This position requires a high level of energy and a personable demeanor, as you will be interacting with prospective residents regularly. You should be comfortable using computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. Flexibility in your schedule is important, as you will be expected to work weekends and weekdays after 5 PM. Experience with Yardi software is a plus, and you should be capable of walking the property and its surroundings, which may include stairwells, hallways, and outdoor areas. Occasionally, you may need to lift and carry objects such as packages or office supplies, typically weighing up to 25-50 lbs, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, or reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Present properties and provided amenities in a positive light to prospective tenants to help secure rental agreements.
  • Maintain awareness of apartment inventory, pricing, and availability.
  • Sell prospective residents on the unit features, company service, and signing a lease.
  • Confirm rental application data and personal references to ensure accuracy.
  • Show and inspect units.
  • Coordinate with Property Managers on unit availability and grounds upkeep.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and inspect properties periodically to maintain company standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a customer-contact capacity or customer-service role is preferred.
  • Past real estate leasing experience preferred.
  • High level of energy and a 'people person' who enjoys communicating with prospective residents.
  • Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, specifically weekends and weekdays after 5 PM.
  • Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Capability to walk the property and its surroundings, which may include stairwells, hallways, and outdoor areas.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying objects such as packages or office supplies (typically up to 25-50 lbs).
  • Performing tasks that may require bending, stooping, or reaching, such as checking under desks or inspecting areas that are difficult to access.
