About the position

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for effectively leasing apartments within a multifamily community. This role involves engaging with prospective residents, conducting tours, and managing leasing activities while assisting management with resident programs and retention strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and qualify prospective residents, providing tours of the community and presenting features and amenities.
  • Lease apartments by closing sales, securing lease agreements, and processing applications for approval.
  • Follow up with prospects regarding their application status.
  • Input information into computer systems accurately and timely.
  • Ensure apartments are ready for residents to move in on the agreed date.
  • Assist the manager in the collection of delinquent rents.
  • Help plan resident functions and gather information about market competition.
  • Follow company policies and comply with Fair Housing, state, and federal laws.
  • Notify supervisors of safety hazards and follow all safety procedures.
  • Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of service industry experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships quickly.
  • Leasing, sales, and closing skills.
  • Competence in the use of standard office equipment and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
