About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Leasing Agent to join our apartment complex team. As a Leasing Agent, you will play a crucial role in attracting potential residents, ensuring high occupancy rates, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in leasing and property management, particularly in our Clinton Township and Waterford apartment communities. The job description includes, but is not limited to, the ability to travel to and work at two different sites, with days split between the two locations. Experience with LIHTC and Tax Credit properties is preferred. You will be responsible for demonstrating general office skills such as typing, filing, faxing, emailing, and copying. Familiarity with property management software is a plus, though not required. As a Leasing Agent, you must be organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. A positive attitude and natural sales ability are essential. You will work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills and delivering quality customer service to supervisors, peers, residents, prospective tenants, and vendors. Your responsibilities will include answering telephones in a professional and courteous manner, fielding calls appropriately, reporting complaints and disturbances to the property manager, responding to leasing inquiry emails, and delivering quality telephone leasing and sales presentations. You will meet with prospective tenants to show properties, explain terms of occupancy, provide information about the local area, review brochures and price sheets, and take applications. Additionally, you will determine and certify the eligibility of prospective tenants, prepare lease agreements and associated documents, maintain apartment availability and unit status records, and keep traffic reports and guest cards. Exceptional customer service and the ability to be a team player are crucial for success in this role.
