About the position

Gateway Management Company is currently seeking a Leasing Agent for our Village at Congaree Pointe apartment community located in Columbia, SC. The Leasing Agent will play a crucial role in the leasing process by assisting prospective tenants and ensuring a positive experience throughout their journey. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including greeting prospective residents, determining their needs and preferences, and professionally presenting the community and specific apartments while highlighting their features and benefits. The Leasing Agent will also be responsible for responding to inquiries for property information in a timely manner, both via email and phone, ensuring that all communication is handled with professionalism and efficiency. In addition to showing apartments, the Leasing Agent will prepare lease and lease renewal documents, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing Standards in all interactions with prospects and residents. The role requires collaboration with the Property Manager to maintain occupancy goals for the community, which includes encouraging resident retention by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with residents. The Leasing Agent will also assist with resident functions, activities, and programs as needed, contributing to a vibrant community atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of sales or leasing experience. Strong attention to detail is essential, as the Leasing Agent will regularly verify all work to ensure accuracy. A positive, friendly, and professional attitude with a strong focus on customer service is crucial for success in this role. The ability to work cooperatively with others and adapt to the dynamic needs of the community is also important.

Responsibilities

  • Greets prospective residents, determines needs and preferences, and professionally presents the community and specific apartments while providing features and benefits.
  • Responds to inquiries for property information in an appropriate and timely manner via email and phone.
  • Prepares lease and lease renewal documents.
  • Follows Fair Housing Standards in all matters when working with prospects and residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of sales or leasing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, as demonstrated by regularly verifying all work thoroughly to ensure there are no errors.
  • Knowledge of general office machines.
  • Displays a positive, friendly and professional attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
