About the position

The Leasing Agent is responsible for leasing and supporting the growth and profitability of a 500-unit multi-family apartment complex. This role requires strong customer service skills, teamwork, and the ability to manage time effectively while providing a positive tenant experience. The Leasing Agent will also need to be adaptable and self-motivated, with a basic understanding of technical tools and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Present property and amenities in a positive light to prospective tenants.
• Advertise available units and property on various media platforms.
• Determine the needs, living standards, and housing requirements of prospective tenants.
• Accept rental applications, screen prospective tenants, and negotiate leasing terms.
• Act as a liaison between tenants, corporate staff, property owners, and government regulators.
• Remain knowledgeable in housing industry and market trends.
• Support maintenance staff by issuing work orders, conducting periodic property inspections, and scheduling maintenance appointments.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
• Proven work experience in property management is a plus.
• Working knowledge of real estate law and leasing practices is required.
• Knowledgeable in Fair Credit and Equal Housing laws is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service (1 year preferred).
• Experience in sales (1 year preferred).
