About the position

The Leasing Agent serves as the primary sales representative for the property, tasked with greeting prospective residents and professionally presenting the features and benefits of the assigned community and property. The Leasing Agent's main goal is to secure lease agreements from qualified individuals while ensuring that both current and prospective residents feel welcomed and comfortable within the community. This role is essential in maintaining a positive atmosphere in the leasing office and throughout the property, reflecting the company's commitment to customer service and community engagement. In this position, the Leasing Agent is expected to conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as adhere to Fair Housing regulations, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other relevant laws governing apartment leasing. Daily responsibilities include inspecting model units and market-ready vacancies, answering incoming phone calls in a professional manner, and greeting prospective residents to assess their needs and preferences. The Leasing Agent will showcase apartments that align with the prospects' requirements while effectively communicating the community's features and benefits. Additionally, the Leasing Agent is responsible for maintaining daily property advertising materials, completing all paperwork related to prospective applications and leases accurately and promptly, and accepting rents and deposits. A key aspect of this role is to help ensure the physical well-being and curb appeal of the apartment community, contributing to a positive living environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospects and present the features and benefits of the assigned community and property.
  • Secure lease agreements from qualified individuals.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, and other relevant laws.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly atmosphere in the leasing office and throughout the community.
  • Inspect models and market-ready vacancies daily.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and handle each call professionally.
  • Determine the needs and preferences of prospective residents and show suitable apartments.
  • Maintain daily property advertising materials.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork related to prospective applications and leases.
  • Accept rents and deposits.
  • Help ensure the physical well-being and curb appeal of the apartment community.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of selling experience.
  • Good leasing and closing skills.
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
  • Preferably 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Organizational skills are essential.
