About the position

The Leasing Agent position at a fast-growing private Residential Property Management Company in Southern California involves managing the leasing process for various residential properties. The role requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to foster positive relationships with prospective tenants and company contacts. The Leasing Agent will be responsible for prospecting applicants, coordinating showings, facilitating screenings, negotiating leasing terms, and maintaining records, all while achieving sales goals and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage leads and potential tenants through networking, cold calls, and referrals.
  • Coordinate with Property Supervisors regarding current and upcoming leasing promotions.
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and follow up to convert leads.
  • Coordinate and arrange showings/tours of properties with Property Managers.
  • Facilitate the screening of applicants through background and credit checks.
  • Negotiate leasing terms and conditions and prepare leasing documents.
  • Coordinate move-in dates and collect rent, security deposits, and application fees.
  • Maintain good relationships and rapport with applicants.
  • Stay updated with current market trends and competition.
  • Provide information on properties to management and attain sales goals/targets.
  • Attend to administrative duties, maintain records, and manage lease renewals.
  • Prepare and implement sales and marketing projects and activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • At least two to three years of real estate property leasing experience.
  • Excellent computer software skills, including MS Windows/Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in Yardi or other property management software preferred.
  • Strong sales and marketing ability with excellent negotiating skills.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Highly professional with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Valid/unexpired CA Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current California Vehicle Insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Yardi (or other property management software) preferred.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
