About the position

The Leasing Consultant position at Brookfield Properties involves meeting with prospective residents to identify their housing needs and determine eligibility based on established criteria. The consultant will show vacant and model suites, as well as property amenities, using techniques specified by the company. Responsibilities include quoting established rental rates and promotions, making follow-up calls, sending literature, and pursuing rental status. The consultant will also manage internet leads and ensure proper follow-up. The role requires completing the applicant screening process and preparing appropriate correspondence based on the results. The consultant will prepare leases and related addendums, maintain lease records and files, and manage the property waiting list and other records in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as applicable affordable housing programs and HUD/Agency regulations. Additionally, the consultant will support the timely input and utilization of on-site property management software for leasing data, ensure apartments are ready for occupancy, and distribute keys and move-in packages at the time of lease signing. The consultant will maintain current knowledge of marketing and leasing techniques, strive to attain affirmative marketing goals, and seek out new residents through various outreach methods. Ongoing customer service to residents after moving in is also a key responsibility, including processing work order requests and assisting with day-to-day operations of the property.

Responsibilities

  • Support timely input and utilization of property management software for leasing data.
  • Ensure apartments are ready for occupancy and distribute move-in packages.
  • Maintain knowledge of marketing and leasing techniques and strive for affirmative marketing goals.
  • Seek out new residents through outreach and direct marketing.
  • Assist with resident retention and provide ongoing customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Preferred: Associate Degree in Customer Service/Hospitality.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Leasing or Sales required.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on property needs.
  • Required skills: fair housing laws, affordable housing programs, Microsoft Office, personal accountability, persuasiveness, and customer service.
  • Preferred skill: One-Site software experience.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
