About the position

The LOA Coordinator is responsible for the administration of leave of absence processes for eligible team members, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This hybrid role involves both remote and onsite work, focusing on managing LOA requests, tracking their status, and serving as a point of contact for team members and supervisors regarding LOA-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Administer leave of absence (LOA) requests for eligible team members.
  • Establish new leaves and track the status of existing leaves.
  • Communicate with team members and managers regarding the status of leaves.
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day problems within established parameters.
  • Refer questions outside of established policy to management for further direction.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for team members and supervisors regarding LOAs.
  • Enter team member specific data into the LOA system to establish a leave.
  • Monitor the LOA email mailbox and respond to inquiries.
  • E-file electronic documents in accordance with department policy.
  • Monitor the LOA incoming phone line and respond to calls in a timely manner.
  • Administer payroll processes for team members on leave, including sick pay and vacation pay.
  • Coordinate with third-party insurance carriers regarding short-term disability claims.
  • Process team member premium payments received while on leave.
  • Coordinate with various internal business partners regarding FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and ADAAA accommodations.

Requirements

  • Tech savvy with the ability to navigate various systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel; familiarity with V-Lookups is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of benefits experience strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience working with Kronos and ADP.
  • Experience in handling LOA processes.
