About the position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking a non-tenure-track Lecturer I (Open Rank) in Cybersecurity to join the Department of Informatics & Engineering Systems. This position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Cybersecurity, advising students, and engaging in scholarship activities that benefit the college, university, or local community. The role is designed to support UTRGV's mission of providing a multicultural education and promoting student access and success in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality instruction in Cybersecurity courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Advise students on academic and career matters.
  • Participate in scholarship activities that serve the college, university, or local community.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is required to teach graduate-level courses.
  • Capability to teach courses related to Cybersecurity at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience in higher education is desirable.
  • Ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
