About the position

The Community Engaged Scholars Program at Brandeis University is seeking a part-time instructor for the course CESP 20a - Special Topics in Community Engagement, scheduled for Spring 2025. This role involves introducing students to contemporary social issues through guest lectures and supporting their learning and advocacy efforts. The course meets weekly for 80 minutes, typically on Tuesdays, with some flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange guest lectures from Brandeis faculty and staff on contemporary social issues.
  • Support students in reflecting on their learning, engagement, and advocacy steps.
  • Facilitate discussions and activities related to community engagement topics.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (MA, MPP, MPH, JD, PhD) or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching experience or relevant experience in community engagement.
  • Strong background in community engaged research, pedagogy, or practice.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in community-based organizations for at least two years.
  • Graduate students who have advanced to candidacy are encouraged to apply.
