About the position

Auburn University at Montgomery is seeking a Lecturer of Accounting and Accountant to teach undergraduate courses in accounting and perform various accounting duties. The role involves a combination of teaching responsibilities and accounting functions, focusing on financial reporting, analysis, and liaison activities with administrative and academic units.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in accounting, applying excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting documentation for internal financial reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct auxiliary financial reporting and analysis.
  • Perform student accounts receivable analysis, including cohort tracking and payment plan analysis.
  • Analyze tuition and fee revenue, including section density and course profitability.
  • Serve as the accounting liaison to administrative and academic units, responding to inquiries professionally.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing resolutions to accounting-related problems.
  • Create routine and custom reports for management.
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts.
  • Perform a variety of standard and complex accounting functions.
  • Prepare departmental collection reports, vendor vouchers, travel vouchers, requisitions, journal entries, and salary/wage transfers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting.
