About the position

The University of Wisconsin - Stout is seeking a lecturer for the Computer Networking & Infrastructure Engineering/Cybersecurity program, starting August 18, 2025. This role focuses on delivering high-quality undergraduate education in a supportive and inclusive environment, contributing to the development of the curriculum, and collaborating with industry partners to enhance student learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory-level and advanced-level undergraduate courses, especially those in support of the BS CNIE and BS Cybersecurity programs.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to maintain and develop new opportunities for students.
  • Contribute to course and program assessment of student learning in collaboration with faculty and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department chair.

Requirements

  • Earned Master's degree in Computer Networking/IT/Cybersecurity or related discipline by employment start date.
  • Commitment to teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Networking/IT/Cybersecurity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, in-person and/or online.
  • A minimum of two years' industry experience in Computer Networking/IT/Cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or technical skills related to IT and Cybersecurity.
  • Experience using Network Programmability & Automation and Firewall technologies (e.g. Palo Alto).
  • Current industry-recognized certification(s) within the field of IT and Cybersecurity, such as Palo Alto, Cyber Ops, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, Cisco Certified Instructor, or equivalent certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
