About the position
The Lecturer of Early Childhood Education at SUNY Brockport is a full-time, 10-month position responsible for teaching courses within the Department of Education and Human Development. Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Early Childhood Inclusive Education.
- Engage in regular service activities, including advisement and accreditation tasks.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance educational programs.
- Participate in departmental and college-level committees.
Requirements
- Master's degree in early childhood education, anti-racist or critical multicultural education, inclusive/special education, or a closely related field (must be completed within six months of hire).
- Demonstrated teaching experience from birth through grade two in early childhood, school, or community settings.
- Teacher certification in early childhood education or a related field (or willingness to attain).
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
Nice-to-haves
- Three or more years of teaching experience in birth through grade two settings.
- College teaching and advising experience.
- Additional teaching certifications in Special Education, TESOL, ESOL, Bilingual, Literacy, or General Education.
- Additional study in inclusive education, anti-racist pedagogy, or related fields.
- Evidence of collaboration with organizations serving minoritized communities.
