About the position

The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer specializing in teaching quantitative methods. This non-tenure-track position is designed for individuals with a strong background in quantitative analysis, particularly in the context of international affairs. The role involves teaching a range of courses from introductory to advanced levels, including statistics and econometrics, and is set to commence in the Fall semester of 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach six courses per academic year, which may include core courses on statistics, basic econometrics, and advanced econometrics.
  • Develop and deliver course materials for quantitative methods at introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels.
  • Engage in non-teaching responsibilities that may lead to potential reductions in course load.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students in quantitative methods and related fields.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree with significant professional experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching quantitative methods courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
