About the position

The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Psychology for a one-year fixed-term track faculty appointment. This role primarily focuses on teaching undergraduate courses, with a workload distribution that may vary between 80% to 100% teaching and 0% to 20% service. The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and community engagement, and who can contribute to the university's mission of advancing knowledge through teaching and research.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses during fall and spring semesters, primarily in a face-to-face format.
  • Engage in service related to undergraduate students, including curricular requirements and program evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely-related discipline.
  • Previous experience teaching introductory psychology, social psychology, biopsychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, or statistics with high ratings.
  • Knowledge and skills in using computer programs and platforms including Microsoft Office, statistical software, and online classroom software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Training in biopsychology/physiological psychology or social psychology.
  • Experience teaching both in-person and online courses.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $48,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
