About the position

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Informatics at IU Indianapolis is seeking two exceptional lecturers for its Biomedical Engineering Program. This non-tenure track position focuses on teaching, course development, and contributing to the program's growth and curriculum enhancement. The role also involves engaging in scholarly activities and participating in departmental committees, with opportunities for advancement to Senior Lecturer and Professor of Teaching for dedicated faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the Biomedical Engineering Program.
  • Develop courses for traditional classroom settings, computer labs, and online education.
  • Assist in setting program goals and updating the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and marketing of the program.
  • Interview, evaluate, and advise students.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and maintain current knowledge in the field.
  • Serve on departmental and school committees.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or M.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field, or a master's degree with 10+ years of experience in Biomedical Engineering.
  • Experience in biomedical device engineering, biomedical system design, mobile technology, imaging technology, bio-nanotechnology, and engineered tissue or organ design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expertise in regulatory aspects of biomedical devices.
  • Experience in device quality control/testing and analytics.
  • Familiarity with wearable/mobile health technology.
