About the position
The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Lee County is a full-time role responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance duties to ensure the repair, cleanliness, and safety of county facilities and equipment. The technician will be involved in electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and construction tasks, and will also be cross-trained to perform custodial functions when necessary. This position requires a reliable and self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the County facilities for deficiencies
- Complete Preventative Maintenance schedules
- Complete Work Requests in a timely manner
Requirements
- Possess a valid Illinois Driver's License
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Have previous experience in construction or maintenance field
- Be reliable, hard-working, and self-motivated
- Have attention to detail
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Possess the ability to understand and follow directions given either verbally or in writing
- Have good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to complete assignments within given time constraints
