About the position
The Underground Operations Frontline Supervisor at Barrick Gold Corporation is a key role within the Underground Operations team, responsible for overseeing personnel and ensuring safe and efficient mining operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underground hard rock mining and will play a crucial role in training employees and coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams to meet operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign personnel as jobs require
- Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment performs as desired
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure compliance with mine plans
- Develop and train employees to standards for safe and efficient equipment operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of six (6) years of underground mine related experience required
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience at a supervisory level required
- Proven knowledge of underground hard rock mining required
- Experience in an environment involving planning/scheduling of maintenance work preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to supervise and direct underground supervision required
- Excellent safety and performance record required
- The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
