About the position

The Associate School Athletic Director at Campbell High School plays a crucial role in supporting the School Athletic Director in managing the school's athletic programs. This position is a limited term temporary appointment, which means that probationary service credit and tenure are not granted. The Associate Athletic Director will assist in developing the school athletic budget, ensuring compliance with departmental rules and regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role also involves inventory management of supplies and equipment, making recommendations for purchases, and ensuring that the athletic program adheres to Title IX and other relevant laws and regulations. In addition to financial oversight, the Associate Athletic Director is responsible for promoting high standards of conduct and sportsmanship among student-athletes. This includes monitoring student eligibility for participation in sports, organizing athletic awards programs, and coordinating training workshops for coaches. The Associate Athletic Director will also assist in planning and supervising athletic trips, maintaining documentation related to the athletic department, and ensuring that all athletes have the necessary parental consent and medical clearances before participating in any athletic activities. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including school staff, parents, and community members, to foster good relations and support for the athletic program. The Associate Athletic Director will also assist in scheduling athletic events, coordinating game support services, and supervising ticket sales and fundraising events. In the absence of the School Athletic Director, this position may serve as the Acting School Athletic Director, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the school athletic budget and generating expenditure plans.
  • Support the School Athletic Director in maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Assist with inventory management of supplies and equipment, prioritizing replacements and purchases.
  • Provide recommendations for developing rules and regulations for the athletic program.
  • Ensure compliance with Title IX and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote high standards of conduct and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
  • Monitor student eligibility for participation in sports and prepare eligibility lists.
  • Organize athletic awards programs and coordinate training workshops for coaches.
  • Plan and supervise athletic trips, ensuring proper arrangements are made.
  • Maintain documentation related to the athletic department, including financial records and accident reports.
  • Assist in supervising athletic ticket sales and fundraising events.
  • Coordinate game support services and supervise home games in the absence of the School Athletic Director.
  • Assist in scheduling and directing the use of athletic facilities and equipment.
  • Serve as Acting School Athletic Director when necessary.

Requirements

  • Educational officers, teachers, and other qualified individuals may apply for this position.
  • Experience in managing athletic programs or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to school athletics, including Title IX.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and the community.
