About the position

The Legal Administrative Analyst position within the Department of the Treasury's Division of Securities Accounting and Payments focuses on managing and analyzing data related to the Judgment Fund, which is responsible for paying court judgments and settlements against the government. The role involves researching, documenting, and developing procedures to ensure compliance with established regulations and to improve the efficiency of the Judgment Fund processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and collect data to assess the impact on Judgment Fund work processes.
  • Research, analyze, and document data relevant to Judgment Fund processes.
  • Analyze cases for irregularities and determine entitlement rights according to established procedures.
  • Initiate the development of new procedures for complex cases.
  • Analyze payment certification processes for amounts ranging from $10.00 to over $1 billion.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, including evaluating and analyzing claims for payment from the Judgment Fund.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing, and documenting data relevant to Judgment Fund processes.
  • Experience in developing new procedures, regulations, and identifying business needs or system requirements.
  • Experience leading projects and assignments to meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Experience in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
