The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) provides essential administrative support to assigned attorneys as a member of the overall litigation defense team. The LAA is responsible for completing a variety of secretarial and administrative support tasks, which include preparing and filing legal documents, maintaining legal files, composing and proofreading correspondence, and managing attorney calendars. This role is crucial in ensuring that the attorneys can focus on their legal work while the LAA handles the administrative aspects of their practice. Candidates for this position must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant or Legal Secretary. Experience in providing support in litigation matters is strongly preferred, as the LAA will be involved in various aspects of litigation support. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. The LAA will report directly to the assigned attorneys and will be expected to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor. This role is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is classified as a full-time position. In addition to the core responsibilities, the LAA may also assist attorneys with various projects, make travel arrangements, and prepare travel expense reports as needed. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing priorities is essential for success in this role.
