Dentons US LLP is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant (IP&T) for our New York office to provide essential support to our Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation practice. This role is designed for an individual who is adept at managing relationships with clients from various sectors, including public and private corporations, multinational Fortune 100 companies, and start-up enterprises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of complex patent, copyright, and trademark litigation, ensuring that they can effectively support our legal team in a fast-paced environment. In this position, you will be responsible for providing legal administrative support to a team of 5 or 6 lawyers, fostering a highly collaborative working atmosphere. Your duties will include preparing, editing, and proofreading legal briefs, memoranda, correspondence, and various legal documents such as license agreements, joint venture agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. You will also assist in the preparation of complex and confidential documents and presentations, as well as manage electronic and paper court filings. This includes preparing and transmitting Assignments, Declarations, and Power of Attorney documents. Billing responsibilities will involve reviewing pro formas, preparing cover letters for client invoices, opening matters, and following up with vendors regarding invoice issues. You will report communications from the USPTO and foreign trademark offices to clients and conduct status checks on active foreign trademarks, which will require communication with foreign associates. Additionally, you will maintain the attorneys' calendars, coordinate attendance at conference calls and meetings, and handle confidential information as necessary. Keeping the lawyers' contacts lists updated in Outlook and InterAction, assisting with time entry, expense reports, and budget spreadsheets will also be part of your role. Other duties may be assigned as needed to fully meet the requirements of the position.
