The Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is seeking a Legal Assistant 2 to provide essential administrative and legal support for the Protective Services Review Team (PSRT). This role is pivotal in managing and monitoring the court calendar, processing Director's Decisions, and Administrative Law Judge's Orders and Certifications. The Legal Assistant will assist in reviewing proposed substantiated findings of abuse and neglect allegations, ensuring that substantiated allegations are accurately entered into the DCS Central Registry. The position may offer remote work opportunities within Arizona, contingent upon the department's business needs and the employee's performance metrics. In this role, the Legal Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including mailing legal notices to alleged perpetrators, preparing legal correspondence, inputting case notes into the database, and compiling case records for closure. The assistant will also be tasked with organizing and submitting accurate records, processing appeals, and maintaining communication with various agencies. This position serves as a liaison between the Regional Review Specialists and the Assistant Attorney General's Office, ensuring that all legal documents and exhibit packets are prepared and transmitted correctly. The Legal Assistant will also lead other legal assistants, manage filing systems, and assist with team supplies and activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of administrative practices, American Law, and the Arizona Revised Statutes. They should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to handle detailed work with accuracy. The position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet deadlines, and provide exceptional customer service. Candidates with an Associate's degree and a paralegal certification, or equivalent experience, are preferred for this role.
