About the position

A well-respected and established national law firm is seeking to add an experienced Legal Assistant to their Corporate team in Salt Lake City. This position will support a group of Attorneys and Paralegals specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax, Investment Management, and Finance/Restructuring across a wide variety of industries. The ideal candidate will have experience in the corporate/transactional field, particularly in areas such as closing document preparation, binders, signature page packets, minute books, and stock certificates. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for a range of administrative and legal support tasks that are crucial to the smooth operation of the legal team. This includes maintaining client files, managing business intake processes, conducting adversary searches, preparing engagement letters, and opening client files. The role also involves managing transactional documents, including signature sign packets, minute books, and stock certificates, as well as transcribing digital audio files. In addition, the Legal Assistant will manage the calendars and schedules of Attorneys, ensuring that dockets and deadlines are met. Effective communication with clients is essential, as is the ability to create and revise client documents, spreadsheets, and forms. The position also requires assisting with monthly closing preparations, managing e-filing with state and federal courts, and handling time entry for Attorneys. Drafting engagement letters and audit responses, processing reimbursements, and assisting other team members as needed are also part of the job responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Attorneys and Paralegals with administrative and legal support tasks
  • Maintaining client files

  • Transcribing digital audio files

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Corporate or Transactional Legal Assistant experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Problem solving skills
  • High level of organization
  • Excellent computer skills: Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and legal software
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experienced in legal document drafting, editing, formatting, etc.
