About the position

As our Legal Assistant in our Employment Single Action department, you will have the opportunity to assist our Attorneys and Paralegals in litigation of our clients' cases involving Wage & Hour disputes, Discrimination, Wrongful Termination, Retaliation, Harassment, and more. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive the best representation possible, and you will play a key part in the legal process by preparing necessary documentation and supporting our legal team in various capacities. Your daily tasks will include preparing documents for filing, preparing substantive responses, and reviewing Defendant responses to discovery. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients in an effective and courteous manner, managing court deadlines, and assisting with pre-trial preparation, which includes drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits. It is essential to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner to support the overall success of our legal efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents for filing.
  • Prepare substantive responses and review Defendant responses to discovery.
  • Communicate with clients in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Calendar and manage court deadlines.
  • Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in Employment Law for Single Plaintiff litigation.
  • Strong experience working with discovery.
  • Knowledge of filing procedures, including e-filing.
  • Working knowledge of California Code of Civil Procedure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in Federal courts a plus.
  • Type at least 40 WPM.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
