South Bay Insurance Defense Firm is seeking a Litigation Assistant with over 5 years of insurance defense litigation experience. This position requires an individual with advanced skills to fill a hybrid assistant role, working closely with a dedicated team of attorneys and staff on cases from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-energy litigation environment and will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are critical to the success of the firm. The Litigation Assistant will be tasked with scheduling depositions, motions, and other hearings as needed, and must have experience filing documents in both state and federal courts. The role also involves preparing motion and discovery shells, as well as coordinating depositions and trial preparations. The candidate will interface with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks, and must be comfortable handling sensitive material cases. We are looking for a candidate who can multitask effectively, possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and can serve as a leader and representative of the firm. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to transcribe dictation quickly and efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Westlaw drafting software is essential, along with experience in document management and calendaring programs such as Prolaw. The firm offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
